FOODS OF TURKEY
This recipe was contributed by Önder Sahan, chef and restauranteur of Hazev restaurant in London’s Canary Wharf. He says this is a popular dish at his restaurant.
Instructions:
1.Melt the butter and warm the olive oil in a saucepan
2.Add the steak and sauté over a medium heat for approximately 5 minutes
3.Throw in the onions and pepper and mix for a further 2-3 minutes before stirring in the tomatoes. Lower the heat and simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
4.Add the almonds and continue to stir for a further 3-4 minutes.
5.Season and serve immediately.
Variations:
1 green bell pepper may be substituted if cubanelle peppers are unavailable

Ingredients:
(Serves four)
400g sirloin steak, finely sliced
2 medium sized red onions, finely chopped
1 cubanelle pepper, chopped
4 small tomatoes, skinned and cubed
200g natural almonds, chopped
50g salted butter
4 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
